This i suspect has little to do with Islamic law and everything to to do with a culture nased almost entirely on patriarchal power and influence.
But before we get too cocky and arrogant, let us look at the lack of justice mwted out to wife batterers in our country. Yesterday I read about a man who beat his g/f and the mother of his baby so badly that he left her severely brain damaged, and physically disabled to the point that she can only use her thumb.
For this he got 4 years and was out in two.

Just cultural I think Stoneman. Its taken a very long time just to get to the position where domestic violence was even seen as a crime.. Until relatively recently it was just regarded as a domestic matter.

Build more prisons, use ex servicemen as prison warders and increase sentences for violence against women and kids.

The increased sentences (even a mandatory minimum) is vital as a tool in helping more women to come forward and press charges. All too often they don't because they are scared the man will be let out after a short time (as they often are) and will come back for them.
Rest assured though that the men who stole the jewels from Hatton Garden will get at least a 10 stretch.

Yep, they'll do more time than most murderers and nonces, and that is not coming from a right wing Daily Mail reader. It is fact, if you steal off rich people or those in power, it is driven as a more callous crime than raping and killing. Yet, when those in power steal from me and you, the general public, one or two are given a few months in nick, then it's swept under the carpet in no time.

The difference here is that 99.9% of all men in this country find the actions of wife beaters etc abhorant. Whilst within the Muslim communities the reaction to the father by the men of the community will be more in line with wanting to pat the bloke on the back for a job well done.
Their culture and religion is nothing short of evil.

That's simply wrong.
Yes, in some cultures there is the thing about giving the wife a hiding every so often to 'keep her in line'. But as Debs says, it's a CULTURAL thing, nothing to do with Islam the religion.
Islam exists in very many countries and cultures. Are you really suggesting that they all have that wife beating thing in common? If so, you are seriously mistaken.
Please don't think that Muslims are the only men who beat their wives. There are many Christian, Jewish, Hindu, Sikh, Buddhist, Zoroastrian, Animist, Jains, Shinto, Pagan, Wiccan, Shamanist and Animist, Agnostic and Atheist men who also beat their wives.
If you're going to criticise, make sure you base it on fact, not on make-belief.
